Your order, Major Howard

Your glider is down. The other two are not.

One platoon out and ready. Garrison quiet. Bridge believed wired.

  • Rush the bridge now with one platoon.
  • Wait in the marsh for the other two platoons.
  • Send a scout section to check for charges first.

One episode, start to finish

Pegasus Bridge runs 12 minutes. Two narrators carry it: a historian at the map table and a voice from the field. Here is where the story stops for you.

  1. Your glider is down. The other two are not.
  2. The bridge is yours. An engine is coming down the road.
  3. Mid-morning. 7 Para is asking for men. The commandos are not here.
  4. Debrief: three questions on what happened, and your rank moves up.

After each choice you hear how your order might have played out for about a minute. Then the story returns to what really happened, with the sources.

What really happened

Rush the bridge now with one platoon.

Howard sent Brotheridge's platoon straight across. The bridge was taken within minutes; the other two gliders landed just behind and joined the fight.

  • Howard, report on Operation Deadstick (June 1944)

History you can check

Every number, name and time in Mapcase is traced to a published source, listed under each decision. When historians disagree, the episode says so. The maps are drawn from real geography: the canal, the river and the roads around the bridges are where they were.

50 episodes in four campaigns

The first episode of every campaign is free. Mapcase Pro unlocks the rest: a 7-day free trial, then $49.99 a year or $9.99 a month.
